Privacy policy
We make games, not profiles. Six of our eight games collect no personal data at all. Star Rings and PopColor show ads and use a few Google services to work and improve; this page explains exactly what that means for you.
1. Who we are
The data controller is Alexandre Le Mieux, EI (sole proprietorship), trading as AstralxWave, SIREN 817 749 765, chez M. Khodr, app. 20, 148 cours Émile Zola, 69100 Villeurbanne, France. Contact: alexandre@astralxwave.fr.
2. Summary by game
| Game | Ads | Analytics and crash reports | Purchases | Personal data collected |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Star Rings | Yes (Google AdMob) | Yes (Google Firebase) | Optional (Google Play) | Device identifiers, usage and technical data; Play Games profile if you sign in |
| PopColor | Yes (Google AdMob) | Yes (Google Firebase) | No | Device identifiers, usage and technical data |
| Modoku, 5Lettres, 5Mots, GeoQuizz, Solitaire Français, Grenouille | No | No | No | None |
None of our games asks for your name, email address, contacts or photos, and none requires an account.
3. Games that collect no data
Modoku, 5Lettres, 5Mots, GeoQuizz, Solitaire Français and Grenouille do not collect or share any personal data. Your progress and settings are saved only on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the game. Google Play itself handles downloads and updates under Google's privacy policy.
4. Star Rings and PopColor
Both games are free to play and funded by ads. They use the Google services below. Unless stated otherwise, everything applies to both games.
4.1 Advertising (Google AdMob)
Ads are shown between games, and rewarded videos you choose to watch give in-game rewards. To serve and measure ads and prevent fraud, Google AdMob processes your device's advertising ID, IP address (used for approximate location, at country or city level), device model, operating system, language, and how you interact with ads.
Legal basis: in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK and Switzerland, your consent for personalised ads and for storing or reading information on your device (section 5). Without that consent, Google may show limited, non-personalised ads, on the basis of our legitimate interest in funding the game. Elsewhere, our legitimate interest. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in Android settings (Google, then Ads).
4.2 Analytics and crash reports (Google Firebase)
Google Analytics for Firebase tells us how the games are played: game events (game started, level reached, ad watched, purchase made), session length, device model, operating system, language, country and an app instance ID. We use it only in aggregate, to improve the games and their balance. Firebase Crashlytics sends a crash report when the game crashes: technical state, device model, system version and an installation ID.
Legal basis: analytics in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, your consent (Star Rings passes your choice to Firebase, which stores nothing for analytics if you refuse); elsewhere, our legitimate interest. Crash reports: our legitimate interest in keeping the game working.
4.3 Remote settings (Firebase Remote Config)
Lets us adjust game settings such as difficulty and ad pacing without an update. It uses a Firebase installation ID. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the game.
4.4 Google Play Games Services (Star Rings)
If you sign in to Google Play Games, Google shares your Play Games player ID, gamer name and avatar with the game, to show leaderboards and achievements and to save your progress in your Google account (cloud save). Your saved game is stored by Google and stays there until you delete it from Play Games. Legal basis: providing the features you choose to use. Signing in is optional.
4.5 In-app purchases (Star Rings)
Purchases are optional and handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment details. We receive an order ID, the product and its status, to deliver what you bought and to keep accounting records. Legal basis: performing the purchase contract and our legal accounting obligations.
4.6 Reminders and ratings (Star Rings)
Optional reminders (for example, a daily chest ready to open) are scheduled locally on your device, only if you allow notifications; no data leaves your phone for this. When the game invites you to rate it, Google Play's own rating window is used; we only see the public rating and review you choose to post.
5. Consent and privacy options
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, both games show a consent message from Google (a certified consent management platform under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework) before any ad or analytics storage. You can accept, refuse, or choose purpose by purpose and partner by partner. Refusing is as easy as accepting and does not block the game.
You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy options button in the game settings, or by writing to us. Your choices are saved on your device and asked again after 390 days at most. In US states with privacy laws, the same button lets you opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for advertising.
6. Who receives data
- Google: Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) for users in the EEA and Switzerland, and Google LLC (USA). Google acts as our processor for Firebase, and as an independent controller for advertising with AdMob, Google Play and Play Games. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
- Ad partners: in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the ad technology partners listed in the consent message, only for the purposes you accept.
- Authorities, only if the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data, and we have no other partners.
7. Transfers outside Europe
Google may process data in the United States and other countries. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (and its Swiss and UK extensions), and Google also relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
8. How long we keep data
- Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase): the retention period set in our Google Analytics property, 14 months at most.
- Crash reports (Crashlytics): 90 days.
- Firebase installation IDs: until deletion is requested, then removed within 180 days.
- Advertising data: kept by Google under its own policies.
- Consent choices: on your device, 390 days at most.
- Purchase records: 10 years, as French accounting law requires.
- Game progress: on your device until you uninstall the game; cloud save in your Google account until you delete it.
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to answer, then deleted within 3 years of our last exchange.
9. Children
Star Rings and PopColor are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it. Our other games collect no data at all.
10. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time (section 5) without affecting what happened before. Write to alexandre@astralxwave.fr; we answer within one month.
The games don't know your name or email, so to find your data we may ask you for details only your device can give (for example the game, the device model and the approximate install date). You can also act directly: reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings, delete your Play Games data in the Play Games settings, and uninstall the game to delete everything stored on your device.
You can also file a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07), or with the authority of your country.
11. This website
astralxwave.fr uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party content: fonts, images and videos are served from our own host. Our host, Hostinger, keeps technical server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, date and time) for a limited time to run and secure the site, based on its and our legitimate interest. We do not use these logs to identify you.
12. Changes and contact
We will update this page when our games or services change, and change the date at the top. For important changes affecting what a game collects, the game will tell you as well. Questions: alexandre@astralxwave.fr.
